Abstract

Language:

This study investigates the effects of various refining treatments on the properties of Al-Si alloys, focusing on the impact of modifying elements such as titanium (Ti), boron (B), strontium (Sr), and sodium (Na). The research evaluates how these additives influence tensile strength (Rm), elongation (A5), and Brinell hardness (HB), while also considering their effect on microstructure and the solidification process of alloys with silicon content ranging from 7 to 16 percent. Additionally, the influence of alloying elements like copper (Cu) and chromium (Cr) is examined, along with the effects of heat treatment on the mechanical properties of these alloys. The findings indicate significant enhancements in the alloy characteristics resulting from appropriate modifications and treatments, underscoring the potential for developing advanced materials for applications in various industrial sectors, including automotive and aerospace engineering.
