The 9th International Conference for Informatics and Information Technology (CIIT 2012) was held from April 19-22, 2012, in Bitola, Macedonia, organized by the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering. This edition marked a significant shift as it was the first organized by the newly established faculty, resulting from the unification of two major institutions in the region. With 81 presentations across 13 sessions, the conference provided a platform for researchers to showcase their latest findings in the fields of Informatics and Information Technologies. Among the highlights was a special student session featuring 15 projects, with the best presentation receiving an award. The conference also included an invited lecture by Professor Vedran Mornar on the application of state maturity in higher education institutions. The diverse topics discussed facilitated productive dialogue on various concepts and methodologies aimed at advancing ICT research and development. The editors express their hope that CIIT will continue to grow and establish itself as a leading international conference with a significant influence on the field.
