Electrospinning is an exciting technique attracting more and more attention as a potential solution to the current challenges in the field of tissue engineering. This review discusses the development of electrospun fibrous scaffolds, emphasizing various biocompatible materials, including natural and synthetic polymers, applied to fabricate electrospun fibers with diverse structures and morphologies. The methodologies include the synthesis and characterization of electrospun materials aimed at enhancing their suitability for bioengineering applications. Significant findings highlight that electrospun fibers exhibit excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability, capable of inducing desired cellular activities crucial for tissue regeneration. The article also examines surface modifications of electrospun fibers and their recent applications in tissue engineering, showcasing the potential of these materials in clinical settings. Future prospects for the advancement of electrospinning techniques and materials are discussed, aiming to inspire further innovations in scaffold design for improved therapeutic outcomes. The integration of electrospinning technology with other biotechnological methods is suggested to expand its applicability in regenerative medicine. This comprehensive overview establishes the relevance of electrospun fibers in addressing contemporary challenges in tissue engineering.
