In this paper, we present the results for recovery of copper from silicate-containing low-grade copper ore using flotation followed by atmospheric and high-pressure oxidative leaching. The objective of this study is to address the challenges associated with low-grade copper ores, particularly focusing on the recovery of copper while managing the increasing impurities present in the ores. The methodology involves a series of flotation experiments to optimize recovery parameters, followed by the application of oxidative leaching techniques at varying pressures to enhance copper extraction. Results indicate that the flotation process significantly improves the copper recovery rate, with high-pressure leaching demonstrating higher efficiency compared to atmospheric conditions. The study concludes that the proposed processing technique holds potential for improving resource utilization in the context of declining copper ore grades and rising demand for copper. By refining these methods, it is possible to enhance the economic viability of low-grade copper deposits, thus contributing to sustainable mining practices.
