Abstract

Language:

This report presents the findings from a series of testwork conducted to evaluate the ultra fine grinding and leach process for samples obtained from Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines Pty Ltd. The objective was to optimize the recovery of gold from concentrate samples through various grinding and leaching conditions. Methodologically, samples were blended and prepared, followed by thorough head analysis and fine grinding using different media. Subsequently, the ground material underwent cyanide leaching to assess recovery under a range of parameters, including variations in pH and oxygenation. Results indicated the effectiveness of fine grinding in enhancing gold extraction, with specific attention given to the correlation between grind size and leach recoveries. The observations from these tests suggest significant improvements in recovery rates with optimized conditions, indicating a viable approach for processing gold concentrates in mining operations. Recommendations for further testing and adjustments in process parameters to maximize recovery potential are also provided.
