Abstract

Language:

Metal oxides and perovskites have garnered significant attention as effective catalysts for partial oxidation of methane (POM). This study focuses on the compatibility of catalyst metal oxides, namely NiO and CeO2, with perovskite oxides La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3-δ (LSCF 6428), La0.7Sr0.3Co0.2Fe0.8O3-δ (LSCF 7328), and La0.7Sr0.3Mn0.3O3-δ (LSM 73). The materials were fabricated into a double-layer planar membrane through the dry pressing method aimed at enhancing catalytic activity. Given that many metal oxides and perovskites exhibit varying thermal expansion coefficients (TEC), the research investigates the adhesion and compatibility at elevated temperatures. Testing involved the analysis of mechanical properties to ascertain the stability and performance of the membrane under operational conditions. The outcomes reveal the interactions and behavior of the layered coatings within the requisite thermal environment, providing insights into optimizing membrane configurations for improved efficiency in catalytic processes.
