Abstract

Language:

A framework was presented for the understanding of both the Integer (I) and the Fractional (F) Quantum Hall Effect (QHE), including the widths of their plateaus. This supplement aims to clarify and accentuate various details of the original paper with a particular focus on the FQHE states of ν=1/2 to 7/2. The paper discusses the necessary conditions for the existence of a negative 2-Dimensional Electron System (2DES) and its interaction with a nearby positive 2-Dimensional Hole Layer (2DHL), emphasizing the critical role of Electron-Hole Dynamics (EHD). It posits that the linear increase in electron density as a function of magnetic field is central to observing the wide plateaus of the IQHE, and this phenomenon serves as initial evidence for EHD's existence. To corroborate these claims, the paper suggests reanalyzing existing measurements from QHE experiments, stressing the importance of high-quality samples for accurate results. Furthermore, it highlights the promise of discovering new even-m FQHE states, such as ν=7/4 and 9/4, contingent upon effective experimental resolution, thus paving the way for deeper understanding of electron-electron interactions in these contexts.
