Failure analysis plays a crucial role in various technical applications, due to the multitude of phenomena leading to engineering failure, challenges in comprehending material behavior, and the intricate geometrical configurations of components. This Special Issue focuses on enhancing technical knowledge surrounding failure in metallic materials by collating significant articles that explore diverse aspects contributing to material failure. The objective is to provide a collection of case studies and methodologies drawn from the literature that exemplify the rigorous process of failure analysis. An editorial overview of multiple accepted manuscripts highlights methodologies, such as the extension of the master curve approach for evaluating fracture toughness in ferritic steels and investigations into the microstructure and failure processes related to nuclear reactor pressure vessel cladding. By emphasizing the importance of understanding both theoretical constructs and practical applications, this Special Issue aims to foster a deeper comprehension of failure phenomena, serving as a valuable resource for specialists in the field of failure analysis. The contributions reflect a diverse range of studies, ensuring that various perspectives and techniques are represented comprehensively.
