A new carbon mineralization method was designed based on a sequestration agent synthesised exclusively from industrial wastes. Phosphogypsum and aluminium-rich industrial wastes were utilized to create a novel process that yields valuable carbonated by-products. The goal was to provide an environmentally friendly solution for carbon dioxide capture and storage while also addressing waste management issues related to phosphogypsum. The methodology involved the synthesis of the sequestration agent from these industrial by-products and evaluating its efficiency in carbon dioxide mineralization. Results indicated that the proposed method is effective in capturing carbon dioxide and converting it into stable carbonate forms, contributing to reduced atmospheric CO2 levels while recycling industrial waste. This research highlights a dual benefit of the procedure by attenuating greenhouse gas emissions and providing a sustainable approach for managing phosphogypsum and aluminium-rich waste materials.
