This study explores the impact of institutional contexts on decision-making processes during crises. The objective is to elucidate how different institutional environments affect the responsiveness and effectiveness of crisis management strategies. Through a qualitative analysis of case studies across various sectors, this research examines the interplay between institutional frameworks and decision-making dynamics during critical incidents. Data were collected from interviews with crisis managers and analyzed to identify common themes and discrepancies across different institutional settings. Results indicate that institutional characteristics significantly influence the speed and nature of decision-making, as well as the overall effectiveness of crisis responses. Specifically, organizations operating in rigid institutional contexts faced greater challenges in adapting their strategies, while those in more flexible environments displayed higher levels of agility and innovation in their responses. The findings highlight the need for crisis management practitioners to consider institutional factors when developing strategies and to foster adaptive capacities within their organizations. This research contributes to the understanding of crisis decision-making in varying institutional settings and provides recommendations for enhancing organizational resilience. The implications for both theory and practice are discussed.
