The Integrated Waste Management Strategy (IWMS) presented in this study addresses the evolving challenges associated with radioactive waste generated by the growing global nuclear energy partnership. The objective is to develop a comprehensive strategy that ensures safe waste disposition while minimizing detrimental byproducts through innovative design considerations. This paper outlines the methodology by which the IWMS encompasses three levels of technological investigation—ranging from research and development to full-scale deployment and establishment of a global nuclear infrastructure. The results indicate a potential pathway for integrating advanced waste forms and containment methods that could enhance the sustainability of nuclear energy production. Furthermore, the study discusses the prospects for utilizing decay storage systems, which facilitate the isolation and decay of hazardous radionuclides over extended periods. These findings suggest that significant advancements in waste management practices may be achieved through further research and development of novel containment materials and strategies. The IWMS aims to not only address current challenges but also provide frameworks for future innovations in nuclear waste management practices.
