Seventeen Albanian brown coals were analyzed in detail, and their properties were compared on national and regional bases. The measurements included moisture, proximate and ultimate analyses, sulfur forms, bituminous matter, humic acids, specific energy, and Gray-King and Free-Swelling Tests. Linear correlations resulted in these coal properties on dry and dry-ash-free bases. The resulting equations predict many coal properties from limited experimental measurements.
