This report presents a comprehensive study on the generation processes in thermal power plants, developed during an industry internship at the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). The objective of the report is to bridge the theoretical knowledge acquired in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with practical insights from the field. A literature survey and detailed analysis of existing knowledge around thermal power generation techniques were conducted. The methodology involved reviewing various resources, including scholarly articles and industry reports, to compile relevant data on operational technologies and efficiency metrics. The results highlight the challenges and advancements in the field of thermal power generation, emphasizing the importance of integrating practical experiences with academic learning. This document serves as a useful reference for future internships and educational endeavors in the energy sector.
