Abstract

Language:

This paper studies the preparation of copper powder from copper sulphate aqueous solution (CuSO4.5H2O), sulfuric acid (H2SO4), and copper chloride (CuCl2.2H2O) using the electrodeposition process. The powder deposition process was investigated by varying the deposition time (15, 30, 45, and 60 minutes), revealing that the weight of the powder increases with longer deposition durations. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis confirmed the high crystallinity and purity of the copper powder, indicating the absence of impurities or oxides. Optical microscopy showed that the copper particles exhibited dendritic shapes, while particle size analysis indicated an average particle size of approximately 4.645 μm. This research highlights the efficiency of the electrodeposition method for producing high-purity copper powder, which is applicable in various fields including electronics and powder metallurgy. The findings suggest that this environmentally friendly process could be optimized further for increased efficiency and reduced costs.
