Abstract

Language:

The increasing impacts of climate change on coastal areas have raised significant concerns regarding environmental sustainability and community resilience. This study aims to systematically review the existing literature on the effects of climate change in these vulnerable regions, focusing on ecological changes, socioeconomic implications, and adaptive strategies. A comprehensive analysis was performed, encompassing both qualitative and quantitative studies published in reputable journals over the last two decades. Key findings indicate that climate change is causing accelerated coastal erosion, increased flooding, and habitat loss, leading to detrimental effects on biodiversity and local economies. Moreover, communities are experiencing heightened vulnerability, necessitating urgent attention to adaptation measures. The review elucidates that effective policy frameworks and local engagement are critical for fostering resilience in coastal regions facing climate-induced challenges. The synthesis of existing research provides a foundation for future studies and informs stakeholders about necessary interventions. It is imperative that governments, researchers, and local communities work collaboratively to implement sustainable practices to mitigate the adverse impacts of climate change in coastal areas.
