This study investigates the trans-beta hot die forging process of the Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al alloy, which is characterized by its low hot deformation temperature, making it particularly suitable for forging applications. The primary objective was to systematically explore the relationship between various processing parameters and the mechanical properties of the alloy. Through rigorous experimentation, optimal conditions for the forging process were established, specifically targeting a stock temperature of 820 °C and a die temperature range of 700-750 °C, combined with a thickness reduction of approximately 50%. The findings reveal that these conditions yield the best mechanical properties for the alloy. This research contributes valuable insights into the processing of Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al, demonstrating its enhanced forgability compared to the widely used Ti-6Al-4V alloy. The results suggest significant reductions in forging stress at elevated die temperatures, establishing a comprehensive understanding of how to effectively process this alloy in practical applications.
