This study focuses on the evaluation of Pour Point Depressant (PPD) testing, which is crucial for modifying the crystallinity of hard waxes and reducing the natural pour point of crude oil. The objective is to determine the most effective PPD chemical and dosage for treating crude oil from X Oil Field, based on a series of laboratory tests. The methodology involves analyzing both blank and treated samples across various parameters, including pour point, wax appearance temperature (WAT), wax disappearance temperature (WDT), dynamic viscosity, yield stress, wax deposition rate, and restart pressure under different shut-in times. Results indicate significant reductions in pour point and viscosity for treated samples, alongside improved rheological properties, thereby confirming the efficiency of the selected PPD. Additionally, the study outlines the correlation between wax deposition rates and temperature, emphasizing the relevance of these findings for practical applications in crude oil production and transportation. Ultimately, the research highlights the importance of PPD testing in optimizing crude oil properties, thereby enhancing operational efficiency in the oil industry.
