This document explores the evolving landscape of naval ship technology with a focus on nuclear marine propulsion. The objective is to analyze advancements in all-electric ship designs and their implications for the future of the United States Navy. The methodology involves reviewing operational frameworks and reactor technologies that facilitate the incorporation of high electrical output systems in naval vessels. Results indicate that innovations such as the Electro Magnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and enhanced power generation capabilities from nuclear reactors exemplify significant progress in operational efficiency and combat readiness. The shift towards all-electric propulsion is particularly exemplified by the CVN-78 Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier, which aims to supersede older models by integrating advanced propulsion systems and weaponry. Additionally, this exploration addresses the strategic applications of littoral vessels and unmanned vehicles that enhance naval operations closer to shore, emphasizing their role in versatility and defense. These developments underscore the importance of nuclear propulsion in maintaining the United States' strategic maritime capabilities.
