Abstract

Language:

The traditional model of closed circuit ball milling systems has been widely used for decades; however, the model assumes that the classifier performs both pre-classification and check-classification, leading to significant characterization errors. To address these inaccuracies, this study develops a new model that modifies the traditional approach by treating the circulating load as the fresh feed for the entire system instead of just the ball mill. The study reveals that the error in slurry level height calculated with the traditional model reaches 52.31%, which is 13.77 times higher than the error produced by the new model. Moreover, when analyzing the relative capacity variations, the traditional model yields values fluctuating between 0.95 and 1.15, in stark contrast to the new model's range of 0.6 to 1.4. This enhanced method demonstrates significantly improved accuracy over the traditional model in evaluating the parameters related to material properties and process dynamics in closed circuit ball milling, indicating its potential for better performance in industrial applications.
