This study investigates the alkaline leaching and concurrent cementation of dissolved lead (Pb) and zinc (Zn) from zinc plant leach residues, aiming to explore effective methods for recovering these metals while minimizing environmental impact. Using laboratory experiments, a systematic approach was employed to assess the leaching efficiency and the cementation process. The results revealed that optimal conditions for leaching were achieved by adjusting parameters such as pH and temperature, leading to significantly higher rates of metal recovery. The concurrent cementation process successfully precipitated Pb and Zn, demonstrating the potential for simultaneous recovery that reduces overall processing time and cost. These findings highlight the feasibility of using alkaline leaching combined with cementation as a sustainable strategy for the treatment of zinc plant residues, offering a new perspective for metal recovery in the mining and metallurgical industries.
