Abstract

Language:

This document provides an overview of solid state relays (SSRs), including their principles of operation and components. The objective is to detail the construction and characteristics of SSRs, focusing on their adaptation circuits, command methods, and power switching elements. The methodology covers various command techniques such as zero voltage triggering, instantaneous command, and peak voltage triggering, along with advanced SSRs. Additionally, thermal management considerations such as heat dissipation calculations and thermal resistance parameters are discussed. The results indicate that the thermal resistance must be calculated based on ambient temperature and the power dissipation of the relay, ensuring that the temperature of the relay and the radiator do not exceed specified maximum limits. This ensures reliable operation within the operational temperature range. Examples illustrate the thermal curves provided by the manufacturer, which aid in selecting appropriate radiators for different operating conditions. Thus, the operational efficiency and longevity of SSRs can be optimized through careful thermal management planning.
