This study investigates the production of electrolytic silicon from amorphous silica in alkaline media, aiming to contribute to Indonesia's sustainable energy solutions amidst rising carbon dioxide emissions. The objective is to develop an efficient process for the extraction of silicon that can potentially replace conventional fossil fuel-based systems. Methodologically, the research employs experimental techniques involving the dissolution of silica in alkaline solutions followed by electrowinning processes to produce silicon. The results indicate the feasibility of producing high-purity silicon through this method, showcasing an effective alternative that aligns with environmental sustainability objectives. By optimizing the parameters related to the electrochemical process, key findings suggest that this process can be scaled for industrial applications, providing a means to reduce reliance on fossil energy while enhancing renewable energy contributions in Indonesia's energy matrix.
