This dissertation investigates the microstructure and mechanical behavior of novel powder-extruded Al-Ce-Mg alloys, aiming to enhance understanding of these materials for structural applications. The objective is to characterize the microstructural features and performance metrics of the alloys under varying processing conditions. Employing a combination of experimental techniques, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and tensile testing, the study systematically analyzes the impacts of processing parameters on the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties. Key findings reveal significant correlations between processing conditions and the resulting microstructure, which in turn influences the mechanical behavior, including yield strength and ductility. The optimized conditions for achieving superior mechanical performance are identified and discussed, contributing valuable insights into the design of lightweight alloys with enhanced properties. This work not only enriches the body of knowledge in materials science but also proposes pathways for the development of advanced aluminum-based alloys for various engineering applications.
