The study focused on enhancing vanadium extraction from roasted vanadium slag with high calcium content using a novel dual approach of direct roasting and soda leaching. The objective was to overcome limitations of traditional sodium roasting technology that prevented effective extraction due to calcium compounds affecting the process. The methodology involved varying roasting temperatures, roasting times, leaching temperatures, concentrations of Na2CO3, and liquid-to-solid ratios to optimize vanadium leaching rates. The results indicated that a roasting temperature of 950℃ for 2.5 hours followed by leaching in a 160 g/L Na2CO3 solution at 95℃ for 1 hour with a liquid-to-solid ratio of 10:1 resulted in a 94% vanadium extraction rate. Additionally, impurities such as silicon and phosphorus reacted with calcium to form insoluble compounds like Ca2SiO4 and Ca3(PO4)2, which effectively removed these elements from the leaching solution. The findings demonstrated the efficacy of this method in improving vanadium recovery from high-calcium slag, suggesting significant potential for industrial application in vanadium extraction processes.
